I have a book about Mabel and the tower of Babel, that apparently rhymes if you are British. And what is a mow anyways if it is not what you do to your lawn?painted maypolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06446625015003854710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31542820.post-49808773791823538112007-08-03T05:56:00.000-04:002007-08-03T05:56:00.000-04:00OK, not to be a pendant, but I am going to be a pd...OK, not to be a pendant, but I am going to be a pdeant for just a second: I think the mow/cow rhyme could be called an "off rhyme" (meaning, of all things, it does not really rhyme) or an "eye rhyme" (meaning of course it looks like it should rhyme but does not really). My understanding is that "eye rhyme" is a sort of category of "off rhyme." You are so right that, especially in this case where the other rhymes are so pure, this one is a cop out. But some poets (and of course I can't think of any real examples right now) have written entire poems with JUST off rhyme.

OK, I'll shut up now.Isishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12050282354531898285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31542820.post-63510359273788173832007-08-03T02:15:00.000-04:002007-08-03T02:15:00.000-04:00And what's up with this doo/you rhyme? Like: too, shoe, Sue, glue, new, or even do?niobehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10685766216611639434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31542820.post-48604114828209333992007-08-02T21:15:00.000-04:002007-08-02T21:15:00.000-04:00Hahahahahah! How sneaky.

But what is Doo?Furrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08617566957749784387noreply@blogger.com
