The Times had a paragraph about Britney entering rehab yesterday, as soberly written as the Times gets (that is, very).
Over the weekend she shaved her head and picked up a couple of tattoos, the latest public displays in a tumultuous year that has included mishandling her babies, parting from her club-hopping husband and appearing in public without underpants."Appearing in public without underpants." I snickered aloud on the train.

Oh lord, well thank goodness the Times has reminded me that grown women should wear "underpants." Sigh, I'll have to remember that the next time I see a lingerie ad in their fashion section...
"Underpants" is such a funny, prim word, isn't it? I guess it's hard to talk about anything Britney is doing these days and not sound sort of off...
Although they left off the most important point, which is how we all KNOW she appeared in public without underpants.
