What a Wonderful World

All's right with the world - the little girl is asleep in her own bed, before 9:00. And she fell asleep in my arms while I was mangling the lyrics to What a Wonderful World. Here's the master:

And the lyrics, if you need them:

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world...

That is perhaps my all-time favorite song. I would have danced to it at my wedding, but we ended up not having that kind of wedding.

Thanks for stopping by Bread and Jam for Frances - do you knit too?

I've been making a bunch of fingerless gloves recently. I'll post some pictures soon.

One of my all time favorites. This song. If only we could keep focus on the wonderful world around us and shut out the negativity of events.
I enjoyed listening to this, it was very timely for me. Thanks.

That song carries an enormous emotional charge. No wonder it is used in so many movies, both for straight effect and irony (e.g., as a backdrop to war scenes).
