>> Evidence that I am a dork:

I just bought a pair of jeans from LL Bean. And they fit. I'm not sure which makes me feel more dorky, the fact that I bought jeans from LL Bean, or the fact that I never tried them before.

>> Too Much Information:

I am suffering from some malaise of the digestion, which the lovely Jessica would refer to as "the mighty wind". In an attempt to have Dr. Google solve my problem, I found the following:

When research subjects ate a diet in which half of their calories came from pork and beans, they experienced a tenfold increase in their normal gas production.

I stopped my research at that point. I'd like it on record that I have NOT been eating an excess of pork and beans, and that I feel for those people, I really do. I hope they were well compensated.

>> Things we like to hear from the backseat:

You rock, Mommy!

>> The Moky Update:

Moky is out of the hospital, and has already had radiation treatment #1 of 16. Every weekday at 5pm for the next three weeks, she gets her head zapped. 5pm. As in cocktail hour. Hey, maybe I'll buy her a case of champagne splits.

Those pants will last forever and ever, so you'll never need to buy another pair and experience this dorkdom dilemma again.

Was that real pork & beans, or Campb3ll's? How about those recording the amount of gas produced, huh? Not all sacrifices made for science go untrumpeted.

I would enjoy champagne, even if I had to lick it out of a bowl. You rock, Mama! That's a yes.

Well, that puts a rather unpleasant spin on "happy hour," now doesn't it?

it is not dorky, but baffling to me how one can buy clothing online or through a catalog without trying it on! how does it ever fit?! i cannot comprehend this. and it never ever works for me. so you must divulge when the jeans arrive!

So what made you try jeans from LL Bean?

Hey, join the club. I bought a pair of Lands End jeans a couple of months ago, and they're the best pair of jeans I've ever owned.

I'm glad about your mama.

And I'm right there with you on the gastric upset. I don't know WHAT is going on with my stomach in the last two days. It is UNHAPPY.

From LL Bean?

Ok if you bought cute jeans from LL Bean then I've been spending too much on jeans.

How did you get this tip?

I have never purchased any clothing online. Is that odd in today's culture? I think, perhaps, it is.

Champagne and radiation...why not?! I hope it goes well for her.

I'd like to know who funded that research? I mean is there a research funding body for stating the obvious? If so, where can I drop off my application for funds?

Yay, Moky. I hope all continues to go well.

Yea for Moky!

Don't know what to say about the pork and beans though. I'll bet you get some interesting google hits as a result of this post though.

My son has been telling me I rock lately. I keep telling him to remember that when he gets mad at me later on. :)

Go, Moky! I'm so glad to hear that she's out of the hospital.

And I know this to be true: with the exception of a "Good Job at Rehab!" party, a case of champagne splits is the perfect gift for any occasion.

What's wrong with LL Bean? Or is this something I should already know?

niobe said...

Sigh. I hope the remaining 15 treatments go quickly and relatively easily.

Well hooray that they fit--how often does that happen? Small miracles, right?

pootandcubby said...

I know you didn't buy mom jeans. Right Maggie?

It's totally the pork and beans.

Oh, The Joys said...

It's not even pork and beans. I just breathe in on one end and out the other end.

Every single day? Poor thing! Do you have to take her?

And.... I bought an Eddie Bauer rain coat/jacket thing. That's just as bad as LL Bean, right?
