CSA: Lists

There's been a viral thing going around, a meme-like compulsion to post a scan of your own handwriting. I've seen it in a number of places - at Flutter's and Chani's and Slouching Mom's and Kyla's - and probably others but I can't remember where. Most recently, I saw it at Thursday Drive - and she has astonishing handwriting.

Last summer, I compulsively blogged my CSA produce each and every week. This year, I've not been cataloging the haul in bits and bytes, but I do write down what we get each pick-up - it helps me to keep track of the stuff in the fridge and plan the next meal. And I like making lists, and crossing things off.

I have a lifetime supply of index cards - my mother worked in an office that used them as an interim data collection device en route to a computerized database. Once redundant, she'd bring the cards home - after all, the back side was perfectly usable. And they're so nice and sturdy for list-making...

So, those are the index cards currently residing on our fridge. Since I wrote them out, we've eaten the 8/6 corn and some of the 8/6 tomatoes - delicious all around. And I added red potatoes to the 8/6 list, because I'd completely forgotten to include them.

Very pretty handwriting.

As an aside, that's one thing I really like about blogging. In the old days, when I used to keep a journal, I was more concerned about my penmanship than the actual content of what I was writing.

I like seeing everyone's handwriting once in a while. It tells me something...or so I like to think.

Like Niobe said, I could never stand my own sloppy writing lurching across the page.

and now I'm hungry.

So funny ... I have a thing for index cards too. I love the sturdiness too.

However, I have atrocious handwriting, so I will not be sucked into this one! Plus, I've been typing for so long, I've found I'm much slower and virtually incapacitated by writting by hand. Yet I still love the thoughtfulness of a handwritten note. Sigh.

I am an index card fanatic--even though I have to buy them.

I do love eggplant.

I love your handwriting! It's the handwriting of a creative person, I think.

Also, wow, you're organized!

Thanks for joining in, and thanks for the lovely compliment.

Someone who did this later than I did! And I like your writing: it looks like the writing of a real woman.

(also, I'm envious of your CSA haul).

I make lists. I lose lists. I make more lists. I lose them. I lament the loss.

Sigh.

My handwriting is hideous.

I make lists too, if not my little mind will never be able to remember all there is to be remember especially when there are 2 noisy kids around constantly giving interruption to the peace of my mind....

Your handwriting reminded me of my Secondary School Teacher!

All of that healthy food must be responsible for the beautiful handwriting.

I'm a list fanatic. It helps me sustain the illusion that I'm in control.

Love that! We too are part of a CSA and have been for 11 years! Firmly committed veggie and food lover here (and list lover).

I liked getting a chance to see your lists written out! I sauteed my yellow squash with an onion and the eggplant (everything diced) and it was delicious. The yellow and purple was so pretty together.

Seeing that cilantro is making me want to have some quacomole. Oh, I make some mean stuff. Grow my own cilantro...such a fresh taste.

Your handwriting is very contemporary and appealing. Have you noticed whether it's changed much over the years since we all seem to be pecking at keyboards now? Mine has suffered...
