Honestly Honesty

Nora thought I might have something interesting to say.

  1. There's a "flat cat" on the shelf in my office. She's been with me in every office I've worked in, for more than 20 years.
  2. I came with only two wisdom teeth. They're dormant and non-threatening. I like to tell my husband that I'm on the cutting edge of evolution, because we don't need wisdom teeth.
  3. My daughter asked me last night if I ever wore shirts that weren't either black, or white. Rarely! I pointed out that I'd had a grey shirt on last week, but then we discussed that grey was a mix of black AND white. So, she might be right. Is it because of children that people decide to dress more colorfully? I am wearing a green sweater today. With a white shirt and jeans.
  4. I do have a pair of red shoes.
  5. After breakfast, and before getting dressed, I like nothing better than to crawl back into my still warm bed with a cup of coffee, just for a few minutes, alone.
  6. The only team sport I have ever done was crew, and it wasn't even real crew. It was in college, and it was intramural crew, in bargelike training shells. But the feel of slipping across the water, pulling, pushing, all in unison, was magical and exhilarating.
  7. Sharks patrol these waters.
  8. There are two suction lizards on the tile walls of our shower. I get sad when one falls off and gets scooped up into the bucket of the girl's bath toys - I think it's lost and gone for ever.
  9. I feel banal today.
  10. But perhaps I am a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.

You?

Holy Guacamole, sistah! That shark picture scared me!

I too am wearing more colorful clothing because it pleases my son. :)

Yes, but . . . you put a BLUE STREAK in your hair! That counts for something, colorwise.

Big fan of black and white and gray here, too. A lot of solid pieces. But black pants/skirt with white top is a favorite.

You were interesting before I read this. And you will continue to be interesting long after I've finished.

do people wear white shirts, for real? when they don't have to? i never do. of course, that is largely because i had some significant spillage problems during the years that i was forced to wear white shirts, but still. why invite laundry trouble?

I always wanted red shoes. I think you have to be interesting to wear them.

Ha! I think I own more black, white, or gray shirts than any person on earth, but maybe we're tied?

And my wisdom teeth came in half-way and stopped. I was supposed to have them pulled, but chickened out years ago.

Red shoes rock. They go with EVERYTHING. Especially white and black.

I am working on a list for Nora, but yours is way more interesting.

Even years after I had mine pulled, I am a little jealous about the teeth.

Once you are a parent, ALONE is one of the most beautiful words in the English language.

Little known fact: Senior year when I was in danger of not graduating because I never took gym, I actually got the admin to give me credit for those intramural crew practices. It was a good life lesson: rules can be bent.

You still have that flat cat?!?

I used to have a pair of red cowboy boots. I miss them.

And I was born without any wisdom teeth at all. I like your explanation re: evolution better than the assumption that that makes me lacking in wisdom....

I did crew in college, too. Rowed in the 6th seat. How did we not talk about this while walking by the very river I used to crew on?

Next you should try orange shoes. Orange is the new red. You read it here first, people.

real lizards get into our house from time to time, so if I saw one of those suction lizards in my shower I would try to catch and release it.

and i love any post that mentions SHARKS! :)

I have red shoes. Red crocs to be precise. Also pink ones, blue ones, and to entertain/annoy my boss, orange ones I am wearing this week for all my Halloween programs.

SHAAARK!
I've given up bleak coloured clothing as I've become older - I don't know why, really.

Re shark: Ew.
Re banal: never!
Coffee in bed? Love it.
I am an old lady and I wear purple and I have a red hat that I look pretty sharp in, if I do say so myself.

I really try not to wear white shirts...I'm always afraid I'm going to spill something on them OR I'm concerned my bra is TOTALLY showing. LOL.

Shark mouths are scary.

I'm pretty jealous of your missing wisdom teeth. You're the 4th person I know without them. I had to have mine yanked out and MAN was that fun.
