Whimsical Wednesday: Arch

One of the little pleasures in my work is that I occasionally get to go to meetings at the old Tweed Courthouse, which is not generally open to the public. It's a grand building. While waiting one day, I amused myself with Hipstamatic.

That's a huge sculpture by Roy Lichtenstein running up through the middle of the Italianate-style atrium.

awesome building, great restoration project!

I love what can be done with digital photography. It makes me happy, even when my own images don't come out the way I'd like.

I've never heard of Hiptamatic. There's something funny (although undeniably appealing in the result) about using a digital camera to imitate the random effects of an analog one.

Just wanted to say that I HAVE read A Suitable Boy -- and did indeed feel bereft upon finishing it. Even without the help of goodreads, I can tell you exactly WHEN I read that one: The summer of 1994, as I was waiting for my first child to be born. I had time and concentration enough to get completely lost in that book.

I never knew Lichtenstein did sculpture, I thought it was just cartoons. And what is this Hipstamatic of which you speak? My latest thing is the Instagram app. (Join, please?)
